The Central Florida College Access Network (CFCAN) recently launched its official website!

CFCAN’s mission is to create a college-going culture in Central Florida (Orange, Osceola and Orange counties) and dramatically increase the postsecondary degree and certification completion rates in the region.

The CFCAN website includes resources, news and an exclusive portal for network members to access important documents, meeting information and more.

Below are examples of resources and information that are available on CFCAN’s new site:

  • The Going2College alerts program is a texting application that sends helpful reminders and valuable information on the financial aid process as well as college admissions and application deadlines.  Not only is this program perfect for keeping students on track, but it is useful to parents and counselors as well! To learn more about how to sign-up for text alerts, visit the Going2College alert program web page.

  • Destination Graduation is a collaborative effort between Central Florida College Access Network, Seminole State College of Florida and Heart of Florida United Way (HFUW). The program utilizes United Way’s 2-1-1 helpline to connect at-risk students to school and community supports to help them complete their degree. The program also has two persistence funds for low-income and veteran students who need extra financial assistance. To learn more information, all students need to do is dial 2-1-1 or text 898-211 and identify themselves as a Seminole State student.

Stay tuned to the CFCAN website for the latest news from the regional initiative! In the meantime, track the great work happening in Central Florida by following CFCAN on Twitter!
